About Mittameedapalli
Mittameedapalli is a traditional Telugu village in Rajampet Mandal, YSR Kadapa District. Its six shrines and its eight yearly festivals are the centre of village life. Sri Ramalayam and the Ankalamma thalli temple are the two main temples.
The village year begins with Sankranthi. Bogi mantalu are lit before dawn, Makara Sankranthi is kept house by house, and then Ankalamma thalli's chariot goes through every street.
Sri Rama Navami runs for nine days. There are special poojas each day, Sita Rama Kalyanam on the last, and Vasthosthavam after it.
Vinayaka Chavithi runs three to five days, with poojas each day and Nimajjanam at the end, which the village also calls the Shobhayatra.
Muharram is kept over three days, observed together by every community in the village, following all the practices. Dussehra, Karthika masam, Maha Sivaratri and Ugadi are kept with the same care.
